A surprise for Jessica ♡

My small group girls, Esther, Steph, Jade, and I decided we should do something to show our small group leader, Jessica, how much we love her and appreciate her for all that she does.
So week 10 of winter quarter, we asked if we could get dinner together as a small group, instead of our regular meeting time. Jessica just thought we were meeting at Esther's apartment before going to eat but...

We were already at Esther's apartment preparing the food- homemade garlic bread on a french baguette, chicken parmesean bread crumb pasta, and a spring salad. Oh! and chocolate dipped bananas and strawberries for dessert (my favorite part of any meal hehe)

Jessica came in at around 6:45 and we had some sunflowers -her&my favorite flowers- ready for her, a little banner, and a table full of food. She was so shocked she started crying

After a delicious meal mostly prepared by Chef Esther (Steph and I assisted her- we are ashamed to admit, we are cooking noobs), we had one last surprise... an infinity necklace that Jessica's been wanting. It signifies SG infinity but more importantly, the infinite love we have in Christ :)

It was a successful surprise dinner! Honestly, Jessica deserves so much more than this... She is the most selfless and compassionate leader and sister- one of my biggest role models. I thank her for teaching me but more importantly constantly showing me God's love and grace throughout this past year and a half. One of the biggest blessings in college so far was meeting these sisters. I am so blessed

Finals

It's that time again for college students- the infamous finals week. Today is finally my last day but I woke up with a terrible sore throat so my morning consisted of green mucus, salt water gargling and this yummy Numi green tea in a special mug that Saumya bought me for Christmas.

T-7hours. C'mon immune system, hang in there!

Trusting & Submitting

I had this draft saved from who knows how long ago (maybe a couple months?)... I know I didn't finish writing, but I'll just post it anyway because these passages are great

-I feel like during a time when us, as college students, are going through a phase of discovering ourselves, it's really hard to give ourselves fully to the Lord. But throughout this past year, I've been getting a glimpse at the outcomes and the benefits of surrending ourselves to our creator.

  • "Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God. So we have come to know and so believe that love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." 1 John 4:15-18
  • "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2
  • "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; Let it be to me according to your Word." Luke 1:38

-The only way to fully trust and submit is when you realize that our God is a God who is willing to give EVERYTHING to you, without holding anything back. He gave all of himself to us, even giving us His son so that he can become approachable to us.
-Let's stop counting the costs of following Christ when He, without holding back, gave ALL that he had for us :)

My Outreach Family 12-13

Last night, we had a Christmas potluck/ Secret Santa party at Sharon's apartment. Her Christmas decorations and her (REAL) Christmas tree were up just in time!

I can't even begin to express how thankful I am for these brothers and sisters in Christ but we attempted to do that very thing over dinner, targeting one person at a time going around in a circle. It was such a great time of encouragement with some laughter and even a little bit of tears *.*

Stepping out of my comfort zone and dying to my pride has been one of my biggest struggles this quarter but also one of my biggest blessings. Through EV time, I was able to get to know a couple people on my campus and just share a few minutes with them amidst our busy schedules to talk about their religion in response to my love story with Christ. It's a great opportunity to share the Gospel with people who have never heard (and surprisingly, almost every single person in PC is open to hearing what it's all about- some people even curious and eager) and just spend a few minutes to get the thought of religion into the minds of people who just didn't care before.

KCM Outreach ministry has seriously been such a big blessing and I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve the one and only King with some of these amazing people. God has been showing me His heart for lost through the their lives and the way they prioritize the Great Commission.
And we all know that this personal sacrifice of our time is absolutely nothing compared to what our Father did for us on the cross.

A fake candid & a surprise from my Secret Santa!!

Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour

My friends picked me up at my house around 10PM and drove off without one word as to where we were going. I was clueless the entire ride until we got there. I guess they wanted to experience Farrell's birthday celebration as well as receive the free icecream sundae... So they dragged me there and told the worker that it was my birthday and man, the workers at Farrell's sure know how to embarrass people. My friends were sitting infront of me cracking up the entire time. Those little brats.
Overall, though, it was an interesting experience and on top of the icecream sundae we received (thanks to my friends), we ordered the Icecream Nachos and it was absolutely delicious.
